Prabtoranee Luklampakchee

Prabtoranee Luklampakchee is a retired Thai boxer who competed in both Muay Thai and professional boxing during the 1970s and 1980s.

Early life and Muay Thai career Born into a Muslim family in Nong Chok, on the far eastern outskirts of Bangkok, he grew up surrounded by rice fields and rural farmland. As a child, he often got into fights with other boys his age in the neighborhood. He eventually began training in Muay Thai under a local Muslim Muay Thai master named Bang Mat Luklampakchee, who helped him develop his skills and become a promising young fighter. He began competing in local bouts in the area as a skilled child boxer.

He competed under the name Chanchai Looklampakchee until he reached adulthood. Bang Mat then sent him to compete at the prestigious Lumpinee Stadium, where he entered a tournament in the Suek Chao Mangkon Muay Thai event, promoted by a businessman of Chinese descent Song Kanchanachusak. Chanchai defeated his opponents throughout the tournament and advanced to the final, where he faced the well-known fighter Chin Lookphrabat from Saraburi. He won the bout by a wide decision, capturing the tournament championship.

Afterward, he became a regular competitor at Lumpinee, facing several accomplished Muay Thai fighters, including Pomphet Singbangsaen, Singsiri Phetthanin, the Lumpinee Stadium flyweight champion, Hanuman Sitsipholuang, Chakchainoi Sakwithaya, and Wangwonnoy Lookmatuli.

His performances eventually earned him a title shot against Singnum Phetthanin. However, after a fierce and closely contested bout, Chanchai lost the fight by decision.
