About Peng Tao

Peng Tao (; 1913 – 14 November 1961) was a Chinese politician who served as Minister of Chemical Industry from 1959 to 1961.

Early life and education Peng was born Peng Dingqian in Poyang County, Jiangxi, in 1913. He joined the Communist Youth League in 1926 and became leader of the Poyang County Children's League. He concurrently served as deputy director of the National Planning Commission and director of its the Comprehensive Utilization Bureau (Resource Utilization Bureau). In May 1958, he was elected an alternate member of the 8th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.

On 14 November 1961, he died of lung cancer in Beijing, at the age of 48.
