David James Latter Jr. (January 5, 1922 – October 28, 2000) was an American professional basketball player. He played in the National Basketball League for the Detroit Gems and Detroit Vagabond Kings and averaged 7.6 points per game. He previously played for a minor league team within the Detroit Tigers’ farm system before enlisting in the United States Army during World War II. He was wounded in action and was subsequently awarded the Purple Heart.
