Celal Yardımcı

Celal Yardımcı (1911–1986) was a Turkish politician who served as the minister of education and minister of justice in the 1950s. Being a member of the Democrat Party (DP) he was arrested and imprisoned following the military coup in 1960.

Early life and education He was born Hüseyin Celal in Doğubayazıt, Ağrı, in 1911. His parents divorced in 1929. He also served as the deputy speaker of the Parliament. His first term in office was between 8 April 1953 and 17 May 1954, and the second was from 9 December 1955 to 15 November 1957.

Yardımcı was appointed minister of justice on 3 April 1960 when Esat Budakoğlu resigned from office. Yardımcı served in the 23rd cabinet until the military coup on 27 May 1960. During the trials lasted between 14 October 1960 and 15 September 1961 his lawyer was his sister, Mesude Varol. and was buried in Zincirlikuyu cemetery.
