Admiral Sir Alexander Cumming Gordon Madden KCB CBE (21 January 1895 – 21 September 1964) was a senior Royal Navy officer who went on to be Second Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Personnel.
Early life and education Madden was born in Stourbridge, Worcestershire, the son of the Rev. Andrew Madden. He was educated at Royal Naval College, Osborne. He served in World War I as well as World War II. He returned to sea as Commander of the battleship HMS Anson in 1944.
In retirement he became Chairman of the Association of Retired Naval Officers.
