Prezell Russell Robinson (August 25, 1920 – June 29, 2026) was an American sociologist, educator, and university administrator. He was the longest-serving president of Saint Augustine's University in Raleigh, North Carolina, leading the institution from February 1967 to his retirement in March 1995.
Life and career Robinson graduated from the private high school of Voorhees Junior College, later Voorhees University, in Denmark, South Carolina.
During his long tenure as president of Saint Augustine's, Robinson was noted for developing his institution's academic offerings and physical plant while simultaneously maintaining its financial stability. He oversaw construction of many of the institution's major buildings, including its library, along with establishing a student-run television and radio station.
