Otmar Emminger

Otmar Emminger (2 March 1911 – 3 August 1986) was a German economist who served as the president of the Deutsche Bundesbank from 1977 to 1979.

Early life and education Emminger was born in Augsburg on 2 March 1911. In 1934, he received a PhD from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. He began to work at the Deutsche Bundesbank in October 1950. Karl Otto Pöhl became his deputy.

Death Emminger died of a heart attack in Manila, the Philippines, at the age of 74 in August 1986.
