Mariana de Jesús Mendieta (born 10 April 1956) is an Ecuadorian politician. She was the first woman to hold the mayoralty of Durán.
Biography Mariana Mendieta was born in Chone, Ecuador, on 10 April 1956.
Mendieta resigned from her town council seat to stand as a candidate for the as a representative of the Social Christian Party, and was elected Mayor of Durán. Her mayoralty was focused on the maintenance of roads and parks.
In July 2007, Mendieta was accused of embezzlement over alleged administrative irregularities.
