Leonard Leopold Mackall (January 29, 1879 – May 19, 1937) was an American historian. He was an eminent biographer.
Early life Mackall was born in 1879 in Baltimore, Maryland, to Leonard Covington Mackall and Louisa Frederika Lawton. He had one brother, Alexander Lawton, and one sister, Corinne. He graduated from Harvard Law School in 1902,
In 1920, he was elected to the Century Association, having been nominated by Robert Grier Monroe and Gari Melchers, Mackall's brother-in-law.
Mackall was president of the Bibliographical Society of America in 1936-1937. In 1937 he was president of the Georgia Historical Society. aged 58. He had been ill for several months.
