Gaspare Colosimo (1859–1940) was an Italian jurist and politician who held various government posts, including minister for posts and telegraphs and minister of colonies.
Early life and education
Colosimo was born in Colosimi, Cosenza, on 8 April 1859. His parents were Peter Paul, an attorney, and Artemisia Colosimo. When he was in office he developed a program for Italian colonies which focused on East Africa in general and Ethiopia in particular. It was the first official document which clearly articulated the colonial goals of the Italian Empire.
