Eli Marion Alexander (December 20, 1830 - February 22, 1906) was an American physician and Democratic politician. He served in the Mississippi State Senate from 1872 to 1874, and in the Mississippi House of Representatives in 1871.
Biography Eli Marion Alexander was born in Monroe County, Mississippi, on December 20, 1830. He studied medicine in the University of Louisville medical department. During the American Civil War, Alexander served as the medical director of the 5th Mississippi Militia with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He then resigned from the Senate after two years in office. In August 1883, Alexander was heavily considered as a candidate for the State House.
Anderson died on February 22, 1906.
Personal life Alexander married Virginia V. Sherry in January 1869.
