'Hugh Glenn Mortimer Charles In 1977, he joined The Blockheads, led by Ian Dury. Charles played on a few tracks for Basement 5's sole studio album, 1965–1980, and got a "special thanks" in the album credits. He also played drums on the song "Nutted by Reality", a track featured on Nick Lowe's first album, Jesus of Cool''. He also worked as session musician for Rachel Sweet. Two memorial concerts were held by the Blockheads, who eventually reformed after the concerts.
