Charles Edward Boutwood, born in Luton in 1860 and died in 1937 in Polperro, was an English painter of the late 19th century and early 20th century. He would travel to France and the United States, where he would teach at the Chicago Art Institute.
Biography
Charles Edward Boutwood received his initial art education at the Royal Academy in London. In Paris he continued his education. Among his students there was Myron G. Barlow, who would also travel to France and immerse himself in the art culture there. These were well received in Chicago.
