Annette Smith Burgess (1899 – August 1, 1962) was an American medical illustrator and instructor at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

Early life Annette Smith was born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1899 to Richard Henry Smith and his wife. She attended public schools in Baltimore. She attended Johns Hopkins University from 1923 to 1926. In 1948, she became an instructor of medical illustration at Johns Hopkins in its "Art as Applied to Medicine" program until she retired on July 1, 1961.

She was a charter member of the Association of Medical Illustrators.
