Alan Mitchell Polinsky (born 1948) is the Josephine Scott Crocker Professor of Law and Economics at Stanford Law School. At Stanford, Polinsky is the founder and director of the John M. Olin Program in Law and Economics. He is also a past president of the American Law and Economics Association.
Education Polinsky received his B.A., magna cum laude and with Highest Honors in Economics, from Harvard University in 1970, where he received the Allyn A. Young Prize in Economics. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1973 and his M.S.L. from Yale Law School in 1976.
