Life and achievement Born in Halle, Pfeifer learnt window dressing after his Abitur. From 1968 to 1973 he studied at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig with Werner Tübke, Hans Mayer-Foreyt and Wolfgang Mattheuer.
