Ugochukwu Collins Iheonunekwu contested the 2023 Abia State House of Assembly election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and was elected to represent Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency in the 8th Abia State House of Assembly.
Following his inauguration in June 2023, he became a member of the Abia State House of Assembly, representing Isiala Ngwa North Constituency.
