Born 1963. Troy Tanner is an American volleyball player, beach volleyball player and head coach.
Troy Richard Tanner (born October 31, 1963) is an American former volleyball player and Olympic gold medalist. He was a member of the United States men's national volleyball team that won the gold medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul.
Early life
Tanner attended Los Altos High School in Hacienda Heights, California.
Tanner was inducted into the Pepperdine Hall of Fame in 2011.
Coaching
Tanner served an assistant volleyball coach for the Brigham Young University men's volleyball team.
Tanner is also the owner of the Tstreet Volleyball Club, which trains in Irvine, California.
Awards
Two-time NCAA Champion — 1985, 1986 Goodwill Games silver medal — 1986 Olympic gold medal — 1988 AVP Rookie of the Year — 1992 Pepperdine Hall of Fame — 2011
