Stephen Kite Sr. is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles and was selected as the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Player of the Year in 1985.
High school career Kite is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, and attended Turner High School. He averaged 22 points per game during his senior season but was overlooked by major college recruiters because his team had a 15–9 record.
College career Kite made an immediate impact on the Golden Eagles as a freshman; he led the team to 16 wins during the 1982–83 season after six seasons of losing records. He served as a student assistant coach for the Golden Eagles during the 1986–87 season.
