Richard Goodson (c.1655 – 13 January 1718) was an English musician and composer, who held the post of Heather Professor of Music at the University of Oxford.
Life and career Richard Goodson, the son of an Oxford publican also called Richard, was a member of the choir of Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford, firstly as a boy chorister from 1667 and then as one of the gentlemen of the choir from 1675 to 1681. The two of them became friends, and Lowe was Goodson's supporter and teacher.
