Life Roiphe was born to novelist Anne Roiphe and psychoanalyst Herman Roiphe. She completed a B.A. in American literature and history from Columbia University in June 1993. She was a summer associate at Hill and Barlow, Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, and Debevoise & Plimpton in 1998, 1999, and 2000 respectively. She earned a J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School in June 2000. She specializes in ethics and the history of the legal profession.
