About Peter Bromhead

Lived 1933 – 2026 (aged 93). Peter Bromhead was a New Zealand cartoonist, industrial designer and interior designer.

Peter Bromhead (born 31 May 1933) is a New Zealand commercial interior designer, cartoonist His mother remarried after his father died and his stepfather's name was Bob Bromhead. His first job was as a window dresser in London He was the editorial cartoonist for the Auckland Star from the early 1970s for 15 years.

Awards and honours In the 1999 Queen's Birthday Honours, Bromhead was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services as a cartoonist. In 2008 he was made a life member as a Fellow of the Designers Institute of New Zealand. He was awarded the Danish Prince Henrik Medal of Honour for his design work. He has received 11 awards for cartooning at the Voyager Media Awards (previously Canon Media Awards and Qantas Media Awards).
