About Paul Chien

Born 1947. Paul Chien is an American chemist and biologist.

Paul Kwan Chien (, born 1 January 1947) is a Hong Kong-American biologist known for his research on the physiology and ecology of intertidal organisms and his support for intelligent design.

Biography Chien was born on 1 January 1947 in Hong Kong and earned bachelor's degrees in Biology and Chemistry from Chung Chi College of the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1966 and his Ph.D. in 1971 from the University of California at Irvine in the laboratory of marine invertebrate physiologist Grover C. Stephens.

Intelligent design Chien is a fellow of the Discovery Institute's Center for Science and Culture, hub of the intelligent design movement. in spite of the fact that, by his own admission, he has no credentials in the field. He has translated several books by intelligent design authors, such as Phillip Johnson's book Darwin on Trial and Jonathan Wells' Icons of Evolution, into Chinese.
