Ignatius Chukwudi Pats Acholonu (15 July 1936 – 14 May 2006) was a Nigerian jurist who served as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He was among the senior members of Nigeria's apex court until his death in 2006.
Career
Acholonu served as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, where he participated in the determination of appeals involving constitutional, civil and commercial law before his death in office.
Death
Acholonu died on 14 May 2006 after a brief illness in Owerri, Imo State. He was buried in Orlu, where members of the judiciary, legal profession and government paid tribute to his contributions to the Nigerian judiciary.
