Okey Igwe

Okey Igwe is a Nigerian politician and lawmaker. He formerly represented Umunneochi constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly.

Political career

Okey Igwe was elected to represent Umunneochi State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and served in the 7th Abia State House of Assembly.

In 2022, Igwe was selected by the PDP as the running mate to Okey Ahiwe in the 2023 Abia State governorship election. Following the death of the party's original governorship candidate, Uche Ikonne, and subsequent changes to the PDP ticket, Igwe remained the party's deputy governorship candidate for the election.

The PDP ticket lost the 2023 Abia State governorship election, after which Igwe continued his involvement in political activities outside elective office.
