Nick Roman

Nicholas George Roman (September 23, 1947 – May 18, 2003) was an American professional football defensive end who played five seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns. He was selected by the Bengals in the tenth round of the 1970 NFL draft after playing college football at Ohio State University.

Early life and college Nicholas George Roman was born on September 23, 1947, in Canton, Ohio. He attended Canton McKinley High School in Canton.

Roman was a member of the Ohio State Buckeyes of Ohio State University from 1965 to 1969. Roman was released by the Browns on February 12, 1975.

Roman signed with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League in 1976 but was later released. His brother, Dan Roman, played college football for the Purdue Boilermakers. Nick died of a heart attack at his home in Columbus, Ohio on May 18, 2003.
