About Marica Gregorič Stepančič

Lived 1874 – 1954 (aged 79). Marica Gregorič Stepančič was a writer, poet, translator, opinion journalist, teacher and editor.

Marika Gregorić-Stepančić (pseudonyms Rudoljupka, Kraška and Tržačanka; 2 December 1874 – 16 February 1954) was a Slovenian writer and poet.

Life

She worked as a teacher in various schools in and around Trieste. She traveled throughout Europe, except for Russia. She published mainly in Slovenian magazines in Trieste and was the editor of the magazine Jadranka. She often wrote under the pseudonyms Rudoljupka, Kraška and Tržačanka. Her travel stories and plays are still regularly printed or performed.

In 1915, she wrote a Slovene-Italian grammar for Italians, which was published in 1936. In 1918, she also published an Italian-Slovene grammar for Slovenes.
