Mafizuddin Ahmed ( – 26 September 1997) was a Bangladeshi educationist and scientist. He served as the first vice-chancellor of Jahangirnagar University.
Early life and education He was born in Gangair village under Dhalapara Union, Ghatail, Tangail. Ahmed completed his bachelor's and master's in chemistry from the University of Dhaka in 1942 and 1944, respectively. He earned his Ph.D. degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1948.
