Maxine Deborrah Hyde (born January 18, 1949) is an American neurosurgeon who is the second African American woman certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
Life Hyde was born January 18, 1949, in Laurel, Mississippi. Ann McDobald and Sellus Hyde were her parents. She was the valedictorian at Oak Park High School. A first generation college student, she earned a B.S. with honors in biology and a minor in chemistry from Tougaloo College in 1969.
