Lu Jintang

Lu Jintang (; 1910 – 16 March 1986) was a Chinese educator and Chinese Communist Party (CCP) official. During the Second Sino-Japanese War, he served in local resistance forces and anti-Japanese county administrations. He later held a series of educational posts, including president and CCP committee secretary of Hebei Beijing Normal College, one of the predecessors of Hebei Normal University.

Early life and wartime work Lu was born in 1910 in Sanqiu village, Zhangjiazhuang, Gaocheng County (now part of Shijiazhuang, Hebei). He worked as a primary-school teacher before joining the CCP in June 1930. He subsequently served as a staff officer and political department director in the Fifth Detachment of an Anti-Japanese Volunteer Army, commander of an anti-Japanese guerrilla unit in Gaocheng, and head of anti-Japanese county governments in Gaocheng, Qingyuan and Qing County.

Lu subsequently served as director of the Baoding municipal bureau of culture and education, principal of Hebei Beijing Middle School, vice president of Hebei Beijing Normal Junior College, and president and CCP committee secretary of North China People's University. He later became president and CCP committee secretary of Hebei Beijing Normal College. The college had been expanded from Hebei Normal Junior College in 1956 and later became one of the institutions that formed the present-day Hebei Normal University.

From 1956 to 1966, Lu concurrently served as principal of the Experimental Middle School affiliated with Hebei Beijing Normal College, now the Experimental Middle School Affiliated with Hebei Normal University. He was also a deputy to the first three sessions of the Beijing Municipal People's Congress.

Death Lu died in Beijing on 16 March 1986, aged 75 or 76.
