Karl le Roux

Background

Le Roux was born in Sweden but was raised in South Africa. He received a medical degree from the University of Cape Town in 1999. He later attended Uppsala University in Sweden, where he obtained a master's degree in International Health and postgraduate diplomas in Anesthetics and Obstetrics. Beginning in 2006, he worked at Zithulele Hospital in a rural area of the Eastern Cape. He is also a visiting fellow at the Center for Health and Wellbeing at Princeton University. He was sworn in on 25 June 2024. He is a member of the Portfolio Committee on Health.
