John Higgitt

John Higgitt (1947 – 2006) was a British art historian and epigrapher. He was born in London on 2 December 1947. The birth was registered in the Hampstead District Offices. He died on the 27th December 2006 in Edinburgh.

Biography Higgitt graduated from Oriel College, University of Oxford (B.A Hons.1969), and the Courtauld Institute of Art (M.A., 1972). His contribution to the research and teaching of the History of Art in the city was recognised when a new Gallery and History of Art staff offices were named in his honour at the Edinburgh College of Arts in 2015.
