Background Entering the Army on 17 February 1710 as an ensign Grey served in the King's Regiment of Foot. On 22 December 1712 he was promoted lieutenant, He was promoted to major-general on 25 June 1759. He died on 10 March 1760 and was buried at St James's Church, Piccadilly, on 15 March 1760.
