Jese Okey-Joe Onuakalusi

Jese Okey-Joe Onuakalusi is a Nigerian lawyer, civil rights activist, and politician. He is a member of the House of Representatives representing Oshodi–Isolo II Federal Constituency of Lagos State. Elected on the platform of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, he serves in the 10th National Assembly..

Onuakalusi contested under the Labour Party and defeated the incumbent Ganiyu Johnson of the APC with 29,386 votes to 16,650 votes.

Early Life and Education

Jese Okey-Joe Onuakalusi is from Anambra State, Nigeria. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English and Literary Studies and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He subsequently attended the Nigerian Law School, Lagos, where he completed his legal training and was called to the Nigerian Bar.

Carrier Before entering politics, Jese Okey-Joe Onuakalusi practised law in Nigeria. He also engaged in civil rights advocacy and public interest litigation through his legal practice, representing clients in matters relating to human rights and public accountability before his election to the House of Representatives in 2023.
