George Jay Gogue ( ; born 1947) is an American educator and 20th President of Auburn University, a position he held from 2007 until his retirement in July 2017 and again in 2019 until 2022, before taking the position of Chancellor of New Mexico State University in 2023.
Biography Jay Gogue was born in Waycross, Georgia, U.S. He graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor's degree in 1969, and a Master's degree in 1971.
In October 2012 Gogue was elected to the Alabama Academy of Honor by its members.
