Early life Henri Gaudin was born on 25 September 1933 in Paris, and he grew up in La Rochelle. Paul Arzens was his cousin.
Gaudin became a professor of architecture at the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Versailles in 1987.
Gaudin turned down the Grand prix national de l'architecture in 1988.
