Born 1962. Harvey Malaiholo is an Indonesian singer, actor and politician.

Harvey Benjamin Malaihollo (born May 3, 1962) is an Indonesian actor, singer and politician of Ambon, Maluku descent. He is an interim replacement member of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) who served from 2022 to 2024 from the electoral district of West Papua.

Early life and family

Harvey Benjamin Malaihollo was born on May 3, 1962, in Jakarta, Indonesia. He is the grandson of legendary Indonesian singer Bram Titaley (also known as Bram Aceh), a renowned keroncong and Hawaiian singer. His mother, Maudy Titaley, was a member of the Titaley Sisters, a vocal group formed by the daughters of the Titaley family. His father, Daniel Benjamin Malaihollo, was a sailor who met Maudy while they were both members of a church choir. He recalled, "If one voice was missing, I would replace it. If voice three was absent, I'd take over voice three." He performed the song "Lady," written by Anton Issoedibyo, accompanied by the Geronimo Singers (which included Agustina Tetelepta, Yuliaty Tetelepta, and Rafika Duri).

Later career and milestones

In 2012, Harvey held a concert to mark 35 years of his career, titled "35 Tahun Berkarya Harvey Malaihollo—Tetaplah Bersamaku," at the Jakarta Convention Center. The concert featured music director Andi Rianto and guest stars including Sheila Majid, Bob Tutupoly, SM*SH, Mike Mohede, and Mikha Tambayong. The collaboration showcased modern jazz versions of Indonesian classics written by legendary songwriters such as Ismail Marzuki, Sam Saimun, and Bing Slamet. The concert featured 25 songs arranged by Andi Rianto and Cavelle Secioria, with performances by his niece Mikha Tambayong, Barcena Bestandhi, and Piche Kota. He secured 16,993 votes but was not initially elected.

In May 2022, Harvey faced a controversy when he was accused of watching a pornographic video during a meeting. The Ethics Council (MKD) investigated the matter but decided to stop the case.

Personal life
