About Halyna Hnatyuk

Lived 1927 – 2016 (aged 88). Halyna Hnatyuk was a Russian and Ukrainian linguist, lexicographer and university teacher.

Halyna Makarivna Hnatyuk (; 20 June 1927 – 26 December 2016) was a Ukrainian linguist, lexicographer, and philologist who was a research fellow of the Potebnia Institute of Linguistics from 1956 to 1992.

Hnatyuk is primarily accredited as co-editor and co-author of the Ukrainian language dictionary published in 1970s. In 1983 all members of the Potebnia Institute of Lingual Studies who worked on the dictionary including Hnatyuk received the USSR State Prize.

She was a wife of Ukrainian singer Dmytro Hnatyuk.
