He was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for Calgary-North East in the 2023 Alberta general election. As of June 21, 2024, he served as the Official Opposition Critic for Small Business. Currently, he serves as the Shadow Minister of Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction
Brar has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and a master's degree in public policy and management from the University of London.
