Rugby career Gu competed for China in the women's tournament at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She also represented China at the 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Cape Town.
On June 2, 2024, She suffered a jaw fracture during the Challenger Series and underwent surgery in Spain on June 5; she had her stitches removed on June 14. She was eventually named in the Chinese squad for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
