About Gerald Frug

Lived 1939 – 2023 (aged 83–84). Gerald Frug was an American teacher and jurist.

Gerald E. Frug (July 31, 1939 – November 7, 2023) was an American legal scholar. He was the Louis D. Brandeis Professor of Law emeritus at Harvard Law School, and a leading academic authority on local government law. He was married to feminist law professor Mary Joe Frug, who was murdered in 1991.

Biography Frug graduated from the University of California, Berkeley and Harvard Law School, and previously worked for the City of New York and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He advocated regional cooperation to solve local government problems. Frug died on November 7, 2023, at the age of 84.
