Later life and death A 1st class private of the 247th Infantry Regiment, Guéguen was killed by the enemy in Souain, Marne, during the Second Battle of Champagne, on 25 September 1915, aged 30. Two comrades, including Frédéric Bougeard from Plérin, had to testify to his death to the civil registry.
His surname was associated the following year with a cup contested in Brittany.
