Devynne Charlton

Devynne Ashtyn Charlton (born 26 November 1995) is a Bahamian athlete competing in the 60 meters hurdles and 100 m hurdles. Charlton won gold in the 60 m hurdles at the 2024, 2025 and 2026 World Indoor Championships. She won the silver in the 100 m hurdles in the 2022 Commonwealth Games and gold in the event in the 2026 Commonwealth Games. She is the world record holder in the 60 meters hurdles having set the record in 2024 and equalled it in 2026.

Early life and education Charlton was born in Nassau, Bahamas on 26 November 1995. She is the daughter of Laura and David Charlton. Her sister is the long jumper, Anthaya Charlton.

Charlton studied at St Augustine's College secondary school in Nassau, Bahamas. where she was an All-American and Big Ten Athlete of the Year three times. Athletics career Charlton represented her country at the 2015 and 2017 World Athletics Championships but did not make the final.

Charlton won the silver medal in the event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. She took silver for the 60 m hurdles at the 2022 World Indoor Championships, setting a national record of 7.81 seconds.

In 2024, Charlton set the world record for the 60 metres hurdles at 7.67 seconds at the 116th Millrose Games. She further broke the world record with a 7.65 run at the 2024 World Indoor Championships, claiming gold in the event. Charlton followed her win with wins at the 2025 World Indoor Championships

A few months later, Charlton won gold in the 100 metres hurdles at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
