David Bruton (born 31 October 1952) is an English former professional footballer, born in Dursley, Gloucestershire, who played as a central defender in the Football League for Bristol City, Swansea Town and Newport County.
Bruton turned professional with Bristol City in 1971, and moved to Swansea Town in 1973. In his first season, he was Swansea's Player of the Year. He was loaned to Newport County in the 1976–77 season, playing six matches and scoring once.
