Chase Curran Mooney (September 30, 1913 – April 29, 1973) was a Guggenheim Fellowship and Rosenwald Fund Fellowship -winning American historian. He specialized in the history of the 19th-century United States.
Biography Born into a family of teachers, Mooney served in the U.S. Army during World War II, working as a senior historian. the book was reprinted by Negro Universities Press in 1971. He was an associate editor of the Journal of American History from 1963 to 1966. A native of Tennessee, Mooney taught at Indiana University for most of his career.
