Biodun Shobanjo (born 24 December 1944), also known as Abiodun Olusina Shobanjo, is a Nigerian advertising executive and entrepreneur. He is the Chairman of Troyka Holdings, one of Nigeria's largest marketing communications groups, and is widely regarded as a pioneer of modern advertising in Nigeria.

Early life Shobanjo was born on 24 December 1944 in Jebba, Kwara State, to a railway worker father (Joseph) and a trader mother (Morin). His family roots are in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State. His father died in December 1959 when Shobanjo was about 15 years old, an event that significantly affected the family's circumstances.

He attended schools including Ijero Baptist Primary School in Lagos and Odogbolu Grammar School in Ogun State.

Career Shobanjo began his career in broadcasting at the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (now Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria) in the mid-1960s. In 1971 he joined the American-owned Grant Advertising as an account executive trainee, rising to become Deputy Managing Director by 1976.

Through Troyka he pioneered several specialist firms in Nigeria, including: The Quadrant Company (1990) – Nigeria's first public relations consultancy All Seasons Mediacom (1997) – Nigeria's first media-independent agency Optimum Exposures (out-of-home advertising) Halogen Security (1992), which grew into one of the country's largest security companies

In 2015 Troyka entered an equity partnership with the global Publicis Groupe, leading to the formation of Insight Redefini (encompassing Insight Publicis, Leo Burnett Lagos, and other agencies).

Awards and recognition Shobanjo has received numerous industry and national honours, including the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) in 2022. He has also been awarded honorary doctorates and was inducted into the Loeries Hall of Fame in 2025 as the first West African recipient.
