Lived 1859 – 1932 (aged 72). Berthold Wiese was a German pedagogue, university teacher, literary critic, romanist and teacher.

Berthold Heinrich Friedrich Wiese (19 December 1859, in Rostock – 3 May 1932, in Halle an der Saale) was a German Romance philologist, who specialized in Italian language and literature. In 1903 he became an honorary member of the American Dante Society of Cambridge, Massachusetts.
