Amina Oyiza Bello

Amina Oyiza Bello (née Yakubu; born 2 April 1978) is a Nigerian lawyer and philanthropist. She is the wife of former Governor of Kogi State Yahaya Bello and is the founder of the Hayat Foundation, a non-governmental organisation that advocates for children with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.

Early life and education

Bello was born on 2 April 1978 in Eika-Ohizenyi, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State, Nigeria. She is the second of eight children.

She studied Law at Obafemi Awolowo University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree. She later attended the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom for postgraduate studies.

Career and philanthropy

Bello is the founder of the Hayat Foundation, a charitable organisation established to support children living with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. The foundation was inspired by her family's experience raising a child with cerebral palsy and advocates greater awareness, inclusion and support for persons with disabilities.

She has also been associated with humanitarian and community development initiatives in Kogi State during her husband's administration.

Personal life

Bello is married to former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello. They have children.
