Ahmad Shamsul Islam (; 6 August 1924 – 14 April 2025) was a Bangladeshi scientist and educator. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 1987 by the Government of Bangladesh for his contribution to education.
Islam joined BRAC University as a consultant in August 2003. In 2008, he was proposed by Maqsudul Alam to initiate the jute genome sequencing project. Islam resided in Austin, Texas.
