Riebe played for Wien, TV Jahn München, FA Bayern im Münchener SC and SpVgg Fürth.
He later coached Wiener AF, VfvB Ruhrort, Parma, SG Andrea Doria, SpVgg Fürth, Hamburger SV, RC Strasbourg and Warta Poznań.
